Kania[Czechoslovakian artist] Born in 1947, Orlova, Kania is a celebrated Czechoslovakian artist currently centered in Prague. Kania’s free-ranging imagination and humor is strongly articulated in his innovative designs. He takes influence from an eclectic mix of styles, from cubism to pop-art, combining these disparate influences into a unique form of expression. His work is contemporary while still reflecting his extensive experience in antiques. All of his furnishings are made using time-honored construction methods, including spherical inlay and a multi-layered French polish shellacking technique which gives his work a seamless, lustrous finish. Some of his works take pride of place in the President's Palace in Prague. |
